Marshall's signing allows him to join an up-and-coming team in the Eastern Conference, but more importantly play for the team he grew up cheering for, according to the AP. Marshall said, There would be no better ending to my career then to play for the Sixers and hopefully end my career in Philadelphia.
September 1, 2008 Donyell Marshall has agreed to terms with the Sixers, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. The deal offers a minimum contract salary for the 35-year-old Marshall. A minimum salary for players with at least 10 seasons of NBA experience is $1,262,275, with a portion covered by a leaguewide pool.
August 20, 2008 Donyell Marshall was waived by Oklahoma City, according to the AP. He was traded to the team in February from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
