Timberwolves past the Bulls, 102-92.
Al Jefferson chipped in 18 points and 14 rebounds for Minnesota, which has won
two in a row and four of six overall. Kevin Love came off the bench to log 18
points and 12 boards while Ryan Gomes ended with 19 points.
Derrick Rose dropped a game-best 22 points and doled out five assists for
Chicago, which has dropped three in a row. Ben Gordon had 17 points and six
helpers in defeat while Tyrus Thomas gave 15 points and eight rebounds.
There was optimism that Luol Deng may be ready to return Friday against the Wizards, but the Chicago Tribune indicates that his sprained left ankle has gotten worse. He said, "I didn't feel as good as Wednesday. Most likely, I'm not going to be able to go until I can help the team. I'm pretty close. Coming back and Im not 100 percent isnt going to help the team. I want to come back and I know we need to start winning."
Larry Hughes is likely to be dealt by the Bulls, who have a crowded backcourt, according to the Chicago Tribune. Hughes said, "If you get traded, obviously another team wants you, so it's always a positive in that way. I definitely want to play minutes and contribute. That's a focus of mine. Hopefully, I'll get the opportunity to do that in the near future."
Kirk Hinrich (thumb) participated in the non-conduct portion of the Bulls' practice on Wednesday, according to the Chicago Tribune. He is still a week or two away from physically testing his thumb.
