| Updating a previous report, Ryan Grant will be given a four-year deal that could earn him $30 million, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Grant will receive a $3 million roster bonus when he inks the contract and another $1.25 million for the 2008 season. The $1.25 million consists of a $750,000 base salary and another $500,000 roster bonus. Grant will earn $4.25 million in 2008 and $8 million over the first two years of the contract. There are layers of incentives and escalators in the contract that will pay Grant well. If he rushes for 1,500 yards this year, he will earn another $4 million in 2009. If he rushes for 1,000 yards, he will earn another $1 million. Based on how well Grant plays, he could earn $18 million, $24 million or $30 million over the life of the contract. He will become an unrestricted free agent in 2012. |
